Jack Wilshere happy to play out wide for Arsenal

Arsenal midfielder Jack Wilshere says that he is happy to play out wide to help his team.

Arsenal midfielder Jack Wilshere has said that although he is not used to playing in a wide role, he is happy to feature in the position to help his team.

Wilshere was started out wide instead of his favoured central position in Arsenal's 1-1 draw with West Bromwich Albion this afternoon.

The midfielder scored the Gunners' equalising goal in the second half, having been moved into a more central position by manager Arsene Wenger.

"It was a tough game, coming here is never easy. We are happy with the point," he told Sky Sports News.

"It was a tough game for me. I am not used to playing on the wing, I'm still learning it, but I'm happy to do it for the team. I got a goal which was nice, I've always said I want to score more goals.

"At the end of the day when it comes to the weekend you've got to do your job and today we've done it well."

Following their well-earned draw, Arsenal find themselves back on top of the Premier League table.
