Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger believes that his side still look well placed for a top-four finish despite drawing 0-0 with Everton.

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has declared that his side are still well placed to qualify for next season's Champions League despite failing to beat Everton tonight.

The Gunners spurned chances in a frustrating 0-0 stalemate at the Emirates, with Olivier Giroud unable to break the deadlock late on.

Wenger admitted that his side's probing attack lacked a finishing touch but remains confident of securing a top-four finish.

He told Sky Sports News: "The game was basically down to physical intensity, it was unbelievable from first to last minute. The referee let a lot go unpunished and in the end we put a lot of effort in. Maybe we used too much power instead of placing the ball.

"The finishing was missing. I think Darron Gibson could have been sent off. He got away with a few tonight. We are in a strong position but we have to win our next game. If we keep this spirit I'm sure we will get there."

The Gunners sit two points clear in third but Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur both have games in hand as the race for a top-four place gathers pace.
