Olivier Giroud targets Premier League title with Arsenal

Arsenal forward Olivier Giroud says that the club's main target is winning the Premier League this season following their fourth-place finish in the 2013-14 campaign.

Arsenal forward Olivier Giroud has insisted that the Premier League title is the main target for himself and his teammates this season.

The Gunners fell short in the 2013-14 campaign by finishing fourth, but have boosted their squad for a title bid with the arrivals of Alexis Sanchez, Mathieu Debuchy, David Ospina and Calum Chambers.

"[The league] is the target," Sporting Life quotes Giroud as saying. "Last year we did well until March. We had a bad run after, but we really wanted to come back and be stronger than last year."

Arsenal will open their new campaign with a match against Crystal Palace at the Emirates on Saturday.
