Former Arsenal duo 'sacked by Swiss club Sion for refusing pay cut'

Former Arsenal duo Alex Song and Johan Djourou are reportedly sacked by Swiss club Sion after refusing a pay cut in the wake of the coronavirus pandemic.

Former Arsenal duo Alex Song and Johan Djourou are reportedly among nine players to have been sacked by Swiss Super League side Sion for refusing a pay cut.

The Swiss league is one of many across the world that has been impacted by the coronavirus outbreak, and clubs have seen their revenue heavily affected by the league's postponement.

According to SDA, Song and Djourou refused to take a pay cut in the wake of the pandemic and as a result have been sacked by the Swiss outfit.

The report claims that ex-Fulham and Newcastle United players Pajtim Kasami and Seydou Doumbia have also suffered the same fate, although the club have allegedly not confirmed the dismissals as of yet.

Song and Djourou made a combined 355 appearances across all competitions for the Gunners.
