Kieran Gibbs: 'Arsenal must take Everton seriously'

Arsenal defender Kieran Gibbs says that the team must take Everton seriously in their FA Cup quarter-final match.

Kieran Gibbs has said that Arsenal have to take Everton seriously when they meet in the FA Cup this weekend.

The Toffees head to the Emirates to take on Arsenal for a place in the semi-finals of the competition.

The defender told the club's website: "I don't think you have to look back at the game in December just to know that. I think you can look at their seasons in general in the last couple of years [to see] that they are a team to be taken seriously and they've got a lot of quality.

"It will be an exciting tie, we've played a lot of big teams already so it will be good clash. They press high and a few teams have done that this season. We have to be as sharp as them on that front and make sure we're composed on the ball.

"They've got a lot of experience as well with a good mixture. A combination of those things has led them to have a good season."

Arsenal have not reached the semi-finals since 2009.
