Skiers taking part in various alpine skiing events have praised the quality of the slopes at Rosa Khutor Extreme Park.
Certain courses at Sochi have been criticised by competitors over the past fortnight, but Tina Maze of Slovenia has lauded the "really good" course.
"It was a great day for me, but not easy as you see the weather is playing games with us," the 30-year-old told sochi2014.com following her event. "I don't care if it is raining, if it is sunny or whatever. The slope was really good and it was possible to ski well."
Norwegian competitor Kjetil Jansrud, who won gold in the super-G event earlier in the Games, was also pleased with the Olympic drive during his race.
"The courses are pretty difficult, actually," Jansrud said. "It's not the steepest one, but the tempo is high today. They were much more challenging than you would think when you look at the course profile.
"I was surprised it was so difficult. Yet again, all the people, all the volunteers working up there, they've done a great job."
Great Britain's Murray Buchan has also praised the condition of the Sochi halfpipe.
