Jelena Jankovic triumphs in Hong Kong

Jelena Jankovic battles back from a one-set deficit to win the Hong Kong Open title at the expense of Angelique Kerber.

Jelena Jankovic won her second WTA title of the year courtesy of 3-6 7-6(4) 6-1 victory over Angelique Kerber at the Hong Kong Open earlier today.

The Serbian one was broken in the opening game of the first set, which Kerber went on to win in convincing fashion.

However, 30-year-old Jankovic responded by winning the next set in a tie-breaker, before she found some good serving form in the decider to win through in a little over two hours and 30 minutes.

A win for Kerber would have booked her place in the season-ending WTA Finals in Singapore next week.
