Canada win their first ATP Cup title as Denis Shapovalov and Felix Auger-Aliassime propel their nation to a 2-0 win in the final over Spain.

Canada dominated proceedings against Spain to win their first-ever ATP Cup title with a 2-0 victory at the Ken Rosewall Arena.

The Group C winners had marched to a 2-1 victory over Russia to make the showpiece event, while Spain arrived having seen off Poland by the same scoreline.

Denis Shapovalov was on form once again for the Canadians on Sunday morning, claiming a 6-4 6-3 win over Pablo Carreno Busta to put his nation on the brink of success.

Roberto Bautista Agut held his own for large portions of the first set against Felix Auger-Aliassime in the second singles encounter, but the Spaniard ultimately fell to a 6-7 3-6 defeat as Canada lifted the title.

The doubles encounter between Canada's Shapovalov and Auger-Aliassime and Spain's Pedro Martinez and Alejandro Davidovich Fokina was not played, as Canada lifted their first ATP Cup title since the tournament's inception in 2020.

Canada have followed in the footsteps of Serbia and Russia to claim their maiden ATP Cup crown, while Spain have now been forced to settle for second best on two occasions.
