Great Britain's Cameron Norrie and Dan Evans are both eliminated in the second round of the Monte Carlo Masters on Wednesday.

British duo Cameron Norrie and Dan Evans both suffered eliminations from the men's singles tournament at the Monte Carlo Masters in the second round on Wednesday.

Entering in the second round, Norrie's struggles on clay against Albert Ramos Vinolas continued, with the Spaniard edging a three-set battle while nursing an abdominal issue.

Despite posting eight aces on the day, Norrie fell to a 4-6 6-2 4-6 defeat to the world number 33, who has set up a tie with Poland's Hubert Hurkacz in the third round.

After suffering defeat to Belgium's David Goffin in the quarter-finals in 2021, Evans fell to the same man this time around - this time in two sets 7-6 (7-3) 6-2.

A double fault from Evans to be broken for 4-1 in the second set summed up the Brit's day, as Goffin prepares to meet Novak Djokovic's conqueror Alejandro Davidovich Fokina.

Evans is still alive in the doubles, though, and he will meet Marcel Granollers and Horacio Zeballos with partner Diego Schwartzman in Thursday's last-16 battle.
