Ronnie O'Sullivan produces yet another comeback in a final to record a 10-7 victory over Judd Trump to win the World Grand Prix.

Ronnie O'Sullivan has recorded a 10-7 victory over Judd Trump to win the World Grand Prix title.

A week ago, the seven-time world champion overturned a deficit to overcome Ali Carter in the Masters final, and history repeated itself here as he impressively won 10 of the final 13 frames.

The opening stages of the final were one-way traffic, with Trump opening up with a 74 break before capitalising on errors made by his opponent.

O'Sullivan desperately needed the interval and he used it to compose himself, and he was able to halve the deficit in the sixth frame helped by breaks of 54 and 60.

Trump went three in front after a poor seventh frame from O'Sullivan, yet back came the veteran in the eighth with a 63 clearance - his highest break of the contest.

Despite his advantage, Trump would have been wary of O'Sullivan displaying similar resolve to last weekend, yet a break of 66 put him further in control at the start of the evening session.

However, O'Sullivan rallied to get back within one before a loose attempt at a safety from Trump saw the match brought back on level terms.

The screw was turned after the interval, O'Sullivan taking three more frames to move one away from the trophy, before Trump remained in the contest with a break of 73, one short of the highest break in a final that lacked the quality that was anticipated.

Trump had the chance to make it 9-8 having got back to 52-40 in frame 17, only to lose position at the start of the colours and be forced to watch O'Sullivan clear up to secure the third Grand Prix title of his career.
