Ali Carter to make return to snooker in October

Two-time World Snooker Championship runner-up Ali Carter announces that he will take part in October's Players Tour Championship after finishing chemotherapy treatment.

Ali Carter has announced that he will make his return to snooker in October after having chemotherapy for lung cancer.

The two-time World Snooker Championship runner-up, who was struck with the illness in May, will compete in the Players Tour Championship in Bulgaria.

"I've entered my first tournament, the PTC in Bulgaria," the 35-year-old said on Twitter.

Earlier this week Carter revealed that he is feeling "positive" ahead of his comeback.
