Mark Allen and Hossein Vafaei were among the high-profile names to exit the Snooker Shootout in the first round on Wednesday.

Mark Allen has been eliminated from the Snooker Shootout at the first-round stage after losing to Jack Lisowski with one second to spare.

Allen, who was crowned World Grand Prix champion on Sunday, had been on course to progress at the one-frame, time-limited tournament before Lisowski potted a blue, red and black in the final 15 seconds.

Defending champion Hossein Vafaei is also out of the competition after losing 33-9 to Shaun Murphy in Wednesday's opening match, making an error during the closing stages to let in the former world champion.

Joe Perry powered past Belgium's Luca Brecel by an 85-0 scoreline, but Mark Williams impressed with a 98-0 whitewash of Craig Steadman.

Veteran Irishman Ken Doherty is a notable name in the last 64 as he battled his way to a 33-9 success over Stephen Maguire.

Jimmy White could not follow suit, however, as the legendary Englishman lost out 44-7 to Adam Duffy, who benefitted from a foul from his opponent during the early stages.

Meanwhile, Moldovan teenager Vladislav Gradinari, at the age of 14, became the youngest player to win a televised ranking match, beating Hong Kong's Ng On-yee.
