Vavae Tuilagi: 'We let ourselves down'

Samoa's Vavae Tuilagi tells Sports Mole that the team let themselves down in their 46-6 defeat to South Africa at the Rugby World Cup.

Samoa's Vavae Tuilagi has admitted that the side let themselves down in their defeat to South Africa at the Rugby World Cup.

JP Pietersen scores three tries for the Springboks to lead them to a 46-6 win over Samoa at Villa Park, keeping the Pool B table tight.

Tuilagi, who is the fifth of his brothers to play for Samoa at the tournament, told Sports Mole: "I think we just let ourselves down, we didn't have much ball in the second half, but you can't win the game without the ball. So we probably chased the game a little more in the second half, but hopefully we can work on that for the next game.

"I think you've just go to back yourself at all times. You've just got to roll with the punches when you don't get the result, but we'll look forward to next weekend."

Samoa take on Japan next weekend.
