New Zealand captain Richie McCaw believes that New Zealand can take nothing for granted when they take on France in Sunday's World Cup final.

The All Blacks are overwhelming favourites to win the match at Eden Park in Auckland after they defeated France 37-17 in the pool stage.

That was one of two defeats for France during the pool stage but McCaw is refusing to rule them out.

"It's an opportunity. There's absolutely nothing for granted. We've given ourselves a chance. Two teams on the start line and it's making the most of that," said McCaw.

"Everyone, regardless of what happens, knowing that they couldn't have done any more. Putting everything that you've done into action. It's as simple as that really.

"The boys are motivated, they're excited. But we're up against a team that will be exactly the same and it's about doing the job for 80 minutes."

New Zealand last won the World Cup back in 1987, while France have never won the William Webb Ellis Trophy.
