Stuart Lancaster: 'No risk moving Manu Tuilagi wide'

England head coach Stuart Lancaster insists that there is "not really an element of risk" involved with moving Manu Tuilgai out wide against New Zealand.

England head coach Stuart Lancaster has insisted that there is "not really an element of risk" involved with moving Manu Tuilagi out to the wing against New Zealand.

The 23-year-old, who was effective in England's 20-15 defeat against the All Blacks last week, has been moved wide to accommodate for the returning Billy Twelvetrees and Luther Burrell in midfield.

"There's not really an element of risk, when we look at the work Manu's done during the week in training," Lancaster is quoted as saying by Planet Rugby.

"He's played there as an age grade player, so he has played there before. As with all selections, you look at the pros and cons and the balance of our side has been enhanced by having Luther and Billy back in the centres and Owen Farrell and Danny Care at nine and 10.

"It's something we've wanted to look at for a while, so we're very comfortable with this selection. Wing is not a new position for him."

Tuilagi made his England debut in 2011.
