Latvian ice hockey player Vitalijs Pavlovs has failed a doping test at the 2014 Winter Games in Sochi, according to the International Olympic Committee.

Pavlovs tested positive for the stimulant methylhexanamine following Latvia's loss to Canada in the quarter-finals on Thursday.

The IOC had warned competitors last week that if they do not get caught for doping during the Games, then they may still get caught later.
