Great Britain men return to London Copper Box

Team GB's handball team return to the Copper Box for the first time since London 2012 as they look to relaunch the national team against Ireland on Saturday.

The British men's handball team are set to compete at the London Copper Box for the first time since the 2012 Olympics.

They will play Ireland in an international friendly on Saturday as they look to relaunch the national team, which has ceased to exist since 2013.

UK Sport's funding withdrawal meant Great Britain have not been able to field teams in Olympic qualifiers and there will be no British teams at the Rio 2016 Olympic Games.

"It's nice to be heading back to the Copper Box, where we have such fond memories from the Olympics," Team GB captain turned British head coach Bobby White told BBC Sport.

London Olympians Steven Larsson, Chris McDermott, Mark Hawkins and Dan McMillan are all included in the 12-man squad.
