Great Britain's women's artistic gymnastics team win their first-ever gold medal at the European Championships, one day after the men's team scooped bronze.

Great Britain's women's artistic gymnastics team made history with a maiden team title at the European Championships in Antalya.

One day after the men's crop - who were defending champions heading to Turkey - scooped the bronze medal, the women's team finished atop the pile to win GB's first-ever European women's team crown.

Jessica Gadirova, Georgia-Mae Fenton, Ondine Achampong, Alice Kinsella and Becky Downie scored a total of 164.428 to blow the competition out of the water, beating second-placed Italy (161.629) by nearly three whole marks.

The Netherlands' total of 158.896 was enough for the bronze medal, and GB will be well-represented in the women's individual finals later this week.

Gadirova - the reigning world and European champion in floor - will contest the floor and beam finals as well as the all-around competition, qualifying for all three events in first place.

Achampong will also compete for beam glory with Gadirova, while Kinsella qualified for the floor final, and the returning Downie made it through to the uneven bars final.
