Alice Kinsella wins gymnastics bronze for England

Alice Kinsella earns a gymnastic bronze medal for Team England in the women's individual all-around final at the Commonwealth Games.

Alice Kinsella has scooped a fifth gymnastics medal of the Commonwealth Games for Team England, taking bronze in the women's individual all-around final.

The 17-year-old progressed to the finals thanks to her performance in the team event yesterday, which saw the women claim silver after being pipped by Canada.

Team Canada were again top of the podium today through Elsabeth Black, whose impressive scores of 14.400 on the vault and 13.500 on the uneven bars contributed to an overall total of 54.200.

Kinsella was also in fine form on the vault, scoring a 14.050, with her 13.400 on the bars helping push her total up to 53.800.

That was not quite enough to topple Georgia Godwin for silver, however - the Australian earning 13-plus scores on all four of her rotations to reach 53.800.

Kinsella's teammate Kelly Simm finished a respectable fifth with a total of 52.600.
