Free agent Tomasz Kuszczak joins Wolverhampton Wanderers on short-term deal

Free agent goalkeeper Tomasz Kuszczak joins Championship side Wolverhampton Wanderers on a short-term deal until January.

Championship club Wolverhampton Wanderers have signed free agent goalkeeper Tomasz Kuszczak on a short-term deal until January.

The former Manchester United stopper, 32, has been without a club since he was released by another Championship side, Brighton & Hove Albion, in the summer.

He has been training with Wolves for the past week and has now penned a deal until the New Year.

"I tried to find a place for myself in football for the last couple of months. I've been training with several clubs and waiting for the right call," he told the club website.

"Wolves came and decided to sign a contract here and I'm glad about that.

"It was always my dream to be a footballer, football is my world. I am a part of the Wolves family now and I'm going to give everything to help them."

He comes in to provide competition for number-one Carl Ikeme, with back-up stopper Aaron McCarey out for a number of months due to a back injury.
