Kenny Jackett: 'Bjorn Sigurdarson could get chance to revive Wolves career'

Kenny Jackett says that he may soon give Bjorn Sigurdarson a chance to revive his Wolverhampton Wanderers career.

Kenny Jackett has said that he may soon hand Bjorn Sigurdarson a chance to revive his Wolverhampton Wanderers career.

The Iceland international striker joined Wolves in 2012 in a deal reported to be worth £2.4m, but has struggled to make an impact and scored just seven goals in 60 appearances.

Sigurdarson was told that he was not part of Jackett's plans following unproductive loan stints at Molde and Copenhagen, but that could soon change once he fully recovers from back surgery.

"Potentially, there's a centre-forward there," Jackett told reporters. "If it unlocks his potential, I will be front of the queue but it will be four to six weeks until he's really back.

"Number one, he's got to get fit after his back operation. He told me the back injury is something that's troubled him for some time, over maybe years and, hopefully, he'll be OK after that.

"When he's fully fit, he has a lot of pace. We'll assess the situation for him individually and the striking department. I wouldn't hesitate to use him if I think he is right."

Sigurdarson has not made a Wolves appearance since an League Cup tie against Oldham Athletic in December 2013.
