Kenny Jackett rules out Roger Johnson recall

Wolverhampton Wanderers boss Kenny Jackett is not planning to reinstate Roger Johnson into his senior squad at Molineux.

Wolverhampton Wanderers manager Kenny Jackett has dismissed the notion that an olive branch could be offered to Roger Johnson.

The centre-back has not played for the club since Jackett took charge in 2013, but with 10 goals having been shipped in the last three outings. there had been suggestions that Johnson could be in line for a recall.

However, Jackett has revealed that he is much more likely to make a loan addition, rather than turn to outcast Johnson.

"[Recalling Johnson] is not something I have considered and I am very unlikely to think about that," he told the Express & Star.

"We can do better internally, but you are always looking at the loan deadline on Thursday and then the January window to be able to turn things around if you need that option. It depends on who is available and what calibre of player you can bring in at present.

"We do need to find an equation at the back that stops these goals going in because we have gone from a very compact unit and being defensively very stringent to conceding some very poor goals."

Johnson, 31, recently revealed that he had remained at Molineux for financial reasons.
