Karl Henry: 'I gave Stale Solbakken my all'

Karl Henry says that he gave 100% during Stale Solbakken's time as manager of Wolverhampton Wanderers.

Wolverhampton Wanderers midfielder Karl Henry has insisted that he gave "everything" during Stale Solbakken's time in charge of the club.

Norwegian boss Solbakken was removed from his position at Molineux after just six months at the weekend, with chairman Steve Morgan citing a lack of effort from players and poor body language as two factors behind the club's decision.

However, during an interview with the Express & Star, Henry was adamant that he was not one of those players that Morgan spoke of.

"Things clearly weren't working but I gave it everything I could in every game I played. Any player that doesn't do that is quickly found out," said the captain. "It's always sad to see anyone you have worked under leave. It proved to be a short spell and, unfortunately, it didn't prove to be a successful one.

"When you see a manager go it is a sad day. The club tried to go down a different route and it didn't really work out but that's how it goes.

"Steve Morgan and Jez Moxey wanted to find a solution and a winning solution and, hopefully, this is it."

Wolves have since appointed Dean Saunders to the helm.
