Teddy Sheringham to hold talks with Stevenage over managerial role?

Stevenage are understood to be lining Teddy Sheringham up as a possible replacement for manager Graham Westley.

West Ham United have reportedly granted Teddy Sheringham permission to hold talks with Stevenage over becoming the League Two club's new manager.

The former Manchester United and England striker, 49, is currently an attacking coach at Upton Park.

Meanwhile, Stevenage boss Graham Westley could leave Broadhall Way when his contract expires at the end of the month.

Should the 47-year-old part company with the Boro, Sheringham is being lined up as a possible replacement, according to Sky Sports News.

Sheringham, whose former clubs also include Tottenham Hotspur, Millwall and Nottingham Forest, retired from professional football at the end of the 2007-08 campaign.
