Mark Noble backs "fantastic" Teddy Sheringham appointment

West Ham United's Mark Noble says that the appointment of Teddy Sheringham will yield "fantastic" results in the future.

Mark Noble believes that West Ham United's appointment of Teddy Sheringham as the team's attacking coach will prove a "fantastic" move by the club.

The East Londoners netted just 40 goals en route to a 13th-place finish last season - their lowest total since the 2006-07 campaign - and officially appointed Sheringham back in May.

The 48-year-old struck 147 times for five different Premier League clubs, making him the division's ninth most prolific marksman of all time, and Noble feels that his experience can aid the goal-shy Hammers next term.

"They've brought him to the club because of his knowledge of the game and what he has done over the past 20 years," Noble told Sky Sports News.

"I think with bringing someone in with the knowledge and experience that he has got will be fantastic for the club."

Sheringham retired in 2008 following a year-long spell with Colchester United.
