Pepe Mel: 'I'm not immune from the sack'

West Bromwich Albion boss Pepe Mel says that management is a "dangerous" business, which is the same in every country.

West Bromwich Albion boss Pepe Mel has insisted that he is not immune from being sacked, despite only taking charge at The Hawthorns last month.

The former Real Betis coach has failed to win in his first five matches with the Baggies, and he admits that every manager is under scrutiny.

"Our work is dangerous. It's the same in every country. When I left Real Betis, the next coach only had 40 days. It's the same," Mel told The Mirror.

"Football is the same everywhere. If the team does not win, the first person who loses work is the coach.

"It is the same in Spain, Germany and England."

West Brom host Felix Magath's Fulham on Saturday.
