Chris Brunt: 'West Bromwich Albion must learn from mistakes'

West Bromwich Albion midfielder Chris Brunt believes that the team can learn from being involved in the Premier League's relegation battle this season.

Chris Brunt has said that West Bromwich Albion must learn from this season's mistakes to avoid a relegation battle again next year.

The Baggies sit just three points clear of the bottom three with two matches still to play this season, but their goal difference ensures that they are all but safe.

Following this afternoon's 1-0 defeat to Arsenal, the midfielder told Sky Sports News: "It's been a poor season for various reasons on-and-off the field. It's been a bit of a shambles really, from all sorts of angles.

"It's difficult to put a finger on what's really gone wrong for us this season but, if we do stay up, we've been under pressure for a lot of the season and we'll have to take some positives out of it.

"A lot of teams go down and you don't see them again, so that's definitely something we don't want to toy with again. We've come pretty close this year and, if we don't learn from that, we're not going to learn from anything I think."

West Brom, who sit 16th in the table, face Sunderland in midweek before finishing the season against Stoke City next Sunday.
