Sweden midfielder Anders Svensson says that he is "rooting" for England at Euro 2012 following the Swede's elimination from the tournament.

Sweden midfielder Anders Svensson has admitted that he is "rooting" for England following his national side's exit from Euro 2012.

The Swedes were knocked out of Group D after losing their first two matches but managed to clinch a 2-0 victory over France last night, pushing England to the top of the group following their 1-0 win over Ukraine.

"I think England will have a better chance of going to the semi-finals, and I hope they do," Svensson told Goal.com. "I really do. I hope they have a great tournament and go as far as I can. I think they deserve it after being unlucky a few times, so I'm rooting for England."

The Three Lions will take on Italy in the quarter-finals on Sunday, while France go head to head with Spain on Saturday.
