Sunderland manager David Moyes admits that he is frustrated by the lack of funds available for the January transfer window.

Sunderland manager David Moyes has admitted that he is frustrated by the lack of funds that will be made available when the transfer window reopens next month.

The Scotsman is keen to strengthen his squad due to their position at the bottom of the Premier League table.

The Black Cats have picked up just 11 points from a possible 48, which has left them four points adrift of safety, but chief executive Martin Bain recently claimed that Financial Fair Play restrictions will prevent the club from making significant signings in January.

According to the Chronicle, when asked if he is frustrated by the limited funds, Moyes said: "Yeah. I knew I had a short summer and I wasn't going to do much business in the summer, because it was really difficult, but I did expect to be able to do some business in January."

As it stands, Sunderland could sanction a loan signing or consider bringing in a new face if a current player is offloaded.
