Adam Johnson relishing Newcastle United match

Sunderland winger Adam Johnson admits that he wants to see fury on the faces of Newcastle United supporters following the Tyne-Wear derby at St James' Park.

Sunderland winger Adam Johnson is determined to make Newcastle United fans angry again in the Tyne-Wear derby at St James' Park.

The 27-year-old has scored in the past two meetings between the teams at the Magpies' home ground in 3-0 victories for the Black Cats.

Johnson has admitted that he is relishing the match against Alan Pardew's men as his side look to secure their fourth win in a row against the Tynesiders.

"It's better when you win away. Afterwards, you realise you've done it, the music is turned up and you've won the game. You get on the bus and you can see everybody there is fuming," he told reporters.

"That's the best part. It just makes it a better feeling winning in front of their fans. There is a completely different feeling. There is a tension. It is like a cup final. Everything is just that little bit extra and you get that from the fans. They make it that way.

"They are nervous, they want to do well, but there's almost a fear attached to it as well. That's exactly what it is, fear; everyone wants to win it that badly. That is how I would probably describe it."

Sunderland face Pardew's side in the derby on Sunday.
