Tottenham Hotspur reportedly have 'quiet confidence' that Hugo Lloris will agree to a contract extension for at least another season.

Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly confident about their chances of tying Hugo Lloris down to a new deal in North London.

The World Cup winner - who has held down his spot as Spurs' number one under Antonio Conte - is set to see his current contract expire at the end of the season.

The likes of Sam Johnstone and Jordan Pickford have been tipped to replace Lloris at Tottenham in 2022, although Conte has hinted that an extension could be on the cards.

Now, The Athletic reports that Tottenham are 'quietly' confident that the 34-year-old will put pen to paper on fresh terms, with the club set to step up contract talks before the end of the year.

The report claims that Lloris is keen to remain in North London despite considering a summer exit, although he is eyeing a return to Nice before he hangs up his boots.

Lloris has kept six clean sheets in 14 Premier League games this season and has totalled 388 appearances for the club in all competitions as he approaches his 10-year anniversary as a Tottenham player.
