Alex Pritchard leaves Tottenham Hotspur to join Norwich City

Alex Pritchard leaves Tottenham Hotspur to join Norwich City on a four-year deal.

Alex Pritchard has completed a move to Norwich City from Tottenham Hotspur on a four-year deal.

The 23-year-old was on the verge of joining Brighton & Hove Albion, but it is believed that Norwich's late interest scuppered a deal with the Seagulls.

Norwich have not disclosed the fee, but recent reports stated that Spurs wanted a sum in the region of £9m for the midfielder, who failed to secure a regular spot in Mauricio Pochettino's team at White Hart Lane.

Pritchard joined Tottenham's academy in 2009, and after making his senior debut in 2011, was sent out on loan to four different clubs, one of which was Brentford, where he made 47 appearances and scored 12 Championship goals in the 2014-15 season.

"I'm ready to come here, fight for my place and hopefully play well," Pritchard told Norwich's official website. "I feel I need to go out and prove myself again in football.

"I'm 23 now so it's about time I had my own path really. I've had a full pre-season and with our first game at the weekend I'm looking forward to hopefully bedding myself in quickly."

Manager Alex Neil added: "Alex is an exciting player who is capable of both scoring and creating goals.

"He is proven at this level having excelled at Brentford two seasons ago, and adds to our attacking options. I'm really looking forward to working with him on a day-to-day basis."

Pritchard made two Premier League appearances for Spurs.
