Sergio Reguilon insists Tottenham Hotspur can still finish in top four

Tottenham Hotspur's Sergio Reguilon laughs off Roy Keane comments about his side being "average" as he remains optimistic about Spurs' chances of a top-four finish.

Tottenham Hotspur defender Sergio Reguilon has affirmed that his side are still capable of securing a top-four finish this season.

The Lilywhites have endured an inconsistent Premier League campaign but finally appear to be heading in the right direction following back-to-back victories over Burnley and Fulham.

Ex-players Roy Keane and Jamie Redknapp recently engaged in a heated debate over Spurs' quality, with the former labelling Jose Mourinho's team "average", but Reguilon has taken a relaxed view on the situation and is simply focused on maintaining his side's charge for a Champions League berth.

In quotes attributed to The Mirror, the 24-year-old said: "Now the feeling is we can arrive in the top four because we have a very good squad and we try to win every match.

"We want to go match to match, three point by three points, and by the end of the season we can be in the top four. We know it's difficult but we have the players to get it."

With regards to Keane and Redknapp's disagreement, Reguilon added: "This is Roy Keane's opinion but we have a lot of top-class players who can play in every team.

"We have the best players but thank you, Jamie, for defending me. It was so funny — he was really angry. I watched that and smiled a lot, it was very nice."

Reguilon has contributed three assists from 15 Premier League appearances this term, and Tottenham find themselves five points adrift of the top four before their showdown with Crystal Palace on Sunday evening.
