Tim Sherwood likens Christian Eriksen to Dennis Bergkamp

Tottenham Hotspur boss Tim Sherwood believes that Christian Eriksen is too good to leave out of the side after his goal against West Bromwich Albion.

Tottenham Hotspur head coach Tim Sherwood has claimed that Christian Eriksen is too good to leave out of his side, after the midfielder's goal against West Bromwich Albion on Saturday.

The Denmark international rescued a 3-3 draw for Spurs deep into injury time after they had gone 3-0 down at The Hawthorns.

Sherwood believes that Eriksen's composed nature in front of goal evokes memories of former Arsenal striker Dennis Bergkamp.

"Eriksen is one who just can't be left out. He's Bergkamp-esque," Sherwood told Sky Sports News.

"You want someone to rush those chances, as an opposition manager, but when it lands to him you know he's going to be ice cold.

"Once he cut inside I knew the net was catching the ball."

Eriksen joined Spurs from Ajax last summer.
