Mauricio Pochettino: 'Youngsters could feature against Tottenham Hotspur'

Southampton manager Mauricio Pochettino admits that he may be forced to use some of the team's younger players against Tottenham Hotspur.

Mauricio Pochettino has said that Southampton may include a number of their younger players against Tottenham Hotspur this weekend.

The Saints, who travel to White Hart Lane tomorrow, have several senior players carrying injuries.

Speaking at his pre-match press conference, the manager told reporters: "I think it's a very good chance to bring in young players to give them a very good experience of playing against a very big team in the Premier League.

"It's a very good time when you're facing difficulties in terms of injuries that you bring in young players to give them experience. It'll be a very good thing for their futures as well.

"Just seeing the doubts we have in our senior players, we're thinking about maybe drafting a younger player into the team."

Ahead of this weekend's fixtures, Southampton sat eighth in the table.
