Mauricio Pochettino is reportedly not in danger of being sacked by Tottenham Hotspur despite his side's 7-2 humiliation at the hands of Bayern Munich.

Mauricio Pochettino is reportedly not in danger of being sacked by Tottenham Hotspur in the wake of Tuesday's 7-2 drubbing at the hands of Bayern Munich in the Champions League.

Speculation around the Argentine's position intensified after four goals in the second half from former Arsenal player Serge Gnabry condemned Spurs to a humiliating defeat in front of their own supporters.

The defeat comes up against the backdrop of an unconvincing start to Spurs' league campaign, with Pochettino's side managing three wins from seven Premier League games and suffering a shock exit from the EFL Cup following a penalty-shootout defeat against Colchester United.

However, according to The Telegraph, the result against Bayern has not changed the board's stance on Pochettino, whom they continue to believe is the correct man for the job.

Pochettino, who joined the club in 2014, signed a fresh five-year contract worth around £8.5m a year with the club in May.

The 47-year-old is said to be on Real Madrid's shortlist for potential Zinedine Zidane replacements, while Manchester United also expressed interest after sacking Jose Mourinho.
