Tottenham Hotspur boss Mauricio Pochettino is reportedly concerned about the club's tactical flexibility this season after their defeat to Newcastle United on Sunday.

Although Spurs dominated possession against their North-East opponents, the North London club were unable to break them down and their Argentine manager feels that the lack of a target man, or a default plan B, could cost them more tight games.

Fernando Llorente, who was so instrumental in Spurs reaching the 2019 Champions League final, left the club at the end of last season after scoring 13 goals in 66 appearances across two years, despite Pochettino wanting him to stay for another year.

The Daily Mirror reports that without the 34-year-old, who has since been linked with Manchester United and a host of Serie A sides, the Spurs boss feels his side are unable to really make changes to the shape of the team and their style of play when needed.

Tottenham signed Tanguy Ndombele, Giovani Lo Celso, Ryan Sessegnon and Jack Clarke during the summer but they are all players who can seamlessly fit into Pochettino's first team and are not necessarily players like Llorente who offer something different going forward.
