Crystal Palace boss Roy Hodgson: 'Tottenham Hotspur deserve their plaudits'

Crystal Palace manager Roy Hodgson says that Tottenham Hotspur are fully deserving of their plaudits after a strong start to the season.

Crystal Palace manager Roy Hodgson has insisted that Tottenham Hotspur should not be regarded as a one-man team, despite the form of striker Harry Kane.

The England international has contributed 13 goals and three assists in 13 outings this season, with Spurs sitting in third place in the Premier League table and having already secured their place in the knockout stages of the Champions League.

However, ahead of the league clash between the two sides, Hodgson has acknowledged that he has been impressed with Mauricio Pochettino's team and that they deserve any praise that comes their way.

The 70-year-old told reporters: "They have an exceptional centre forward in Harry Kane, who scores with nearly every touch of the ball, but they're no one-man team.

"I think the plaudits Spurs have been getting are very much deserved. They've been excellent this year when I've seen them."

Palace make the short trip to Wembley Stadium sitting four points adrift of safety in the table.
