Eric Dier urges Tottenham Hotspur improvement

Tottenham defender Eric Dier calls on his teammates to improve quickly following their first defeat of the season against Liverpool.

Eric Dier has called on his Tottenham Hotspur teammates to improve quickly following their 3-0 defeat to Liverpool.

Spurs saw their winning start to the season come to an end on Sunday as they were comfortably beaten on home turf by the Merseysiders.

Despite suffering a disappointing result in front of their own fans, Dier is hopeful that Spurs can recover from the setback.

"It was very tough but we have to improve. We didn't start the game too well and we paid for it with the early goal, but we've got to keep going," he told the club's official website.

"You can't take the highs too high and the lows too low, you've just got to learn from it and keep trying to improve – that's something we can strive for."

Tottenham are back in action on September 13 when they travel to Sunderland in the Premier League.
