Tottenham Hotspur's Toby Alderweireld to miss Chelsea showdown

Tottenham Hotspur defender Toby Alderweireld is reportedly ruled out of Saturday's Premier League clash against Chelsea as he continues to nurse a knee injury.

Tottenham Hotspur defender Toby Alderweireld has been ruled out of Saturday's Premier League clash against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge as he continues to nurse a knee injury.

Manager Mauricio Pochettino had hoped that the Belgium international would return to action in last weekend's 3-2 victory over West Ham United, but he remained on the sidelines.

Alderweireld, who has been out since suffering the injury on October 15 in a 1-1 draw with West Bromwich Albion, also sat out of Tuesday night's defeat to Monaco, which sent the club out of the Champions League.

According to the London Evening Standard, Pochettino has revealed that Alderweireld will also be missing from the squad when they head over to West London to face Chelsea at the weekend.

Since the 27-year-old has been out of the team, Spurs have kept two clean sheets in eight games in all competitions.
