Tottenham Hotspur team news: Injury, suspension list vs. Southampton

Sports Mole rounds up Tottenham Hotspur's latest injury and suspension news ahead of Saturday's Premier League showdown with Southampton.

Tottenham Hotspur will be glad for a home game following their woeful run of away form lately, having failed to win any of their matches on the road so far this season.

Spurs' last three matches in a row have been away from home, each bringing with it a disappointing result. A 2-2 draw with Olympiacos in the Champions League despite going 2-0 up, a 2-1 reverse against Leicester City in which VAR featured heavily, and a penalty shootout defeat to League Two Colchester United in the EFL Cup last time out.

However, Tottenham have won two of their three home games in the league so far and will hope to reverse their poor form with a strong performance against Southampton, who fielded a strong side in the EFL Cup against rivals Portsmouth, running out 4-0 winners.

Here, Sports Mole rounds up the latest injury and suspension news for Tottenham.

Giovani Lo Celso

Status: Out
Type of injury: Hip
Possible return date: November 3 (vs. Everton)

The new arrival suffered an injury before his Spurs career really got going, and looks set to miss the entirety of October with the problem. A substitute appearance against Everton at Goodison Park appears the most likely return for the midfielder.

Ryan Sessegnon

Status: Major doubt
Type of injury: Thigh
Possible return date: Unknown

Mauricio Pochettino has not had much luck with his new signings, as Sessegnon is also sidelined with a hamstring problem. No return date has yet been scheduled for the youngster, who is yet to make his Tottenham debut.

TOTTENHAM HOTSPUR'S SUSPENSION LIST

Tottenham have no players suspended for this game.
