Tuesday's League One predictions including Rotherham vs. Lincoln

Sports Mole provides score predictions and previews for all of today's League One fixtures, including Rotherham vs. Lincoln.

Playoff-chasing Sheffield Wednesday will play host to Accrington Stanley on Wednesday evening looking to bounce back from their defeat to leaders Rotherham United at the weekend.

While the Owls begin the week just a point adrift of the top six, Accrington remain in the mid-table positions despite two successive wins in League One.

We say: Sheffield Wednesday 1-0 Accrington Stanley

On the back of a quick turnaround for Wednesday and Accrington's form having improved, this feels like a difficult match to call. Nevertheless, the home side should have enough in the tank to get over the line, potentially by the narrowest of margins.

Our tipster partners are predicting over 1.5 goals.

Crewe vs. Wigan (Tuesday, 7.45pm)

Basement side Crewe Alexandra will endeavour to avoid a fourth successive defeat in League One when promotion hopefuls Wigan Athletic visit the Mornflake Stadium on Tuesday evening.

The hosts went down 2-0 to Sunderland at the weekend, while the Latics were forced to settle for a point in a 1-1 stalemate away to MK Dons.

We say: Crewe Alexandra 0-2 Wigan Athletic

Losing 12-goal Lang to suspension is a huge blow for this Wigan side who surely cannot envisage a third game without a win, but they have been handed a prime opportunity to return to their victorious ways here.

The only way is seemingly down for Crewe despite their spirited showing versus Sunderland, and Richardson's side will expect to right the wrongs of the weekend with all three points here.

Our tipster partners are predicting under 3.5 goals.

Charlton vs. Gillingham (Tuesday, 7.45pm)

Charlton Athletic will be looking to return to winning ways in League One when they welcome relegation-threatened Gillingham to the Valley on Tuesday night.

The Addicks will enter the contest off the back of a 2-1 defeat at Accrington Stanley on Saturday, while Gillingham made it two wins in three games with a 1-0 success at Doncaster Rovers.

We say: Charlton Athletic 1-1 Gillingham

There is no downplaying the importance of this match to both clubs, but we are finding it really hard to separate them here. Gillingham will enter the contest in the better form, but Charlton will be fired up to secure a positive result, and we have had to settle on a low-scoring draw here.

Our tipster partners are predicting under 3.5 goals.

Plymouth vs. Portsmouth (Tuesday, 7.45pm)

Both playoff hopefuls Plymouth Argyle and Portsmouth will be keen to pick up points when the pair meet on Wednesday afternoon.

The hosts will begin the week inside the top six, whilst Portsmouth travel to Devon looking to cut the gap between themselves and the playoffs.

We say: Plymouth Argyle 1-1 Portsmouth

A tight battle at the top of League One, with its result likely to have huge implications on the race for a playoff spot.

Portsmouth have enjoyed the upper-hand over Argyle of late, but it is likely that this one will end in a stalemate.

Our tipster partners are predicting under 3.5 goals.

Rotherham vs. Lincoln (Tuesday, 7.45pm)

League One leaders Rotherham United will continue their pursuit of an immediate return to the Championship when they welcome Lincoln City to the New York Stadium on Wednesday evening.

Just the one point separates Rotherham to second-placed Sunderland as the title race begins to hot up in League One.

We say: Rotherham United 2-0 Lincoln City

Defeats have been a rarity for Rotherham this season, meaning the Boxing Day loss would have no doubt hurt the Millers dressing room.

Expect them to bounce back, and strongly, against a struggling Lincoln outfit.

Our tipster partners are predicting a home win.

Shrewsbury vs. Morecambe (Tuesday, 7.45pm)

Two sides currently sitting in the bottom half of the League One standings can put an end to their lengthy winless runs as Shrewsbury Town host Morecambe at New Meadow on Saturday.

Since a 1-0 triumph over Sheffield Wednesday in their opening fixture this year, The Shrews have failed to win eight straight matches in all competitions, while the team from Lancashire are without a victory in five consecutive contests, drawing Gillingham 1-1 last weekend.

We say: Shrewsbury Town 2-1 Morecambe

They have not played all that bad, but psychologically many things that could go wrong for Morecambe have lately, and that alone can be challenging to overcome when you are in a slump and desperate to stay in the league.

Their current winless slide may be longer than their opponents on Saturday, but The Shrews are a side with a lot more confidence at home, and their tight and compact midfield should be able to take away a lot of The Shrimps time and space, which would allow them to focus heavily on stopping the dangerous Cole Stockton.

Our tipster partners are predicting under 2.5 goals.

Wycombe vs. Fleetwood (Tuesday, 7.45pm)

Two teams at opposite ends of the League One table will meet on Tuesday when Wycombe Wanderers welcome Fleetwood Town to Adams Park, with the hosts continuing to fight for promotion.

However, while the Chairboys are competing to be in the playoffs, the visitors find themselves at the other end of the division, currently sitting just above the relegation zone.

We say: Wycombe Wanderers 2-0 Fleetwood Town

On paper, the hosts head into the game as the clear favourites due to their league positioning, and the results that they have put together in recent times should give them confidence.

Wycombe Wanderers taking a comfortable victory would not be a surprise to see given how long it has been since Fleetwood Town picked up three points.

Our tipster partners are predicting under 3.5 goals.
