Gordon Strachan impressed by Darren Fletcher form

Scotland manager Gordon Strachan believes that Darren Fletcher is a happier man since leaving Manchester United for West Bromwich Albion.

Scotland manager Gordon Strachan has revealed his delight at seeing Darren Fletcher find form with West Bromwich Albion this season.

Fletcher has impressed since leaving Manchester United for the Baggies in the winter transfer window, and Strachan believes that the midfielder is clearly in a better place after illness disrupted his final couple of years at Old Trafford.

"I think he's happier in himself, which is understandable," the Scotland boss is quoted as saying by the Daily Mail. "He has played 10 or 15 games this season and is enjoying life.

"He has answered a few questions by playing all those games. I saw him a couple of weeks ago at Aston Villa and he was terrific, even though West Brom lost.

"There is a physical and mental side to it for Darren but he has dealt with that. He has decided what his career is and that it's not with Manchester United any more. He doesn't want to be a sub, he wanted to do something about it."
