Real Madrid reportedly walk away from a deal for Kylian Mbappe after Paris Saint-Germain stalled over a £189m deal.

Real Madrid's proposed deadline day move for Paris Saint-Germain's Kylian Mbappe is reportedly 'off completely'.

The World Cup-winning Frenchman has entered the final 12 months of his deal with Mauricio Pochettino's side, leading to suggestions that he would be sold this summer before walking away for free in 2022.

Real Madrid were thought to be hopeful of securing Mbappe's signature in the last knockings of the summer window and were rumoured to have tabled a bid higher than £189m to PSG.

However, journalist Kaveh Solhekol has now claimed that Real have walked away from a deal due to PSG stalling, telling Sky Sports News: "I've just got a message from somebody involved in the Kylian Mbappe deal, it's a three-word message: "Deal off completely". Kylian Mbappe will not be getting his dream move to Real Madrid.

"I've just got off the phone to somebody in Paris who is working on a deal, and this is incredible. Real Madrid were willing to pay for than €220m (£189m) today for Kylian Mbappe.

"PSG have stalled, haven't got back to Real Madrid, who have walked away because it's too late to do the deal. I've been told Real Madrid will sign Mbappe on a pre-contract agreement in January for nothing. PSG could have had more than €220m (£189m) today but have not co-operated."

Mbappe - who already boasts three goals and two assists from four Ligue 1 appearances in the 2021-22 season - is therefore set to leave PSG for free next summer after Les Parisiens forked out £130.5m to sign him from Monaco in 2018.
