Carlo Ancelotti unsure over Gareth Bale, Luca Modric injuries

Real Madrid coach Carlo Ancelotti admits that he does not know if injured duo Gareth Bale or Luca Modric will play again this season.

Carlo Ancelotti has admitted that he does not yet know the severity of the injuries suffered by Gareth Bale and Luca Modric in Real Madrid's 3-1 win over Malaga.

Bale was replaced due to a calf problem after just four minutes at the Bernabeu on Saturday, while Modric came off on the hour mark with a knee injury.

The duo could be ruled out of Wednesday's visit of Atletico Madrid in the Champions League quarter-finals, but Ancelotti insists that nothing has been determined as of yet.

"Modric has a knee problem and Bale [has one with his] calf, but we can't say anything just yet," the Italian told reporters.

"We'll evaluate them both in the coming days, but they're not completely ruled out [for the rest of the season]."

The all-Madrid tie remains finely balanced at 0-0 following the stalemate at the Vicente Calderon earlier this week.
