Emilio Butragueno praises Jese Rodriguez

Real Madrid director of institutional relations Emilio Butragueno praises Jese Rodriguez for his performance in Tuesday's Copa del Rey clash with Cornella.

Real Madrid director of institutional relations Emilio Butragueno has praised Jese Rodriguez following the Spaniard's return from a long-term injury.

The attacker scored his side's fifth in their 5-0 win over Cornella in the Copa del Rey on Tuesday – his first appearance since suffering a serious knee injury in March.

"I must admit I was struck by Jese's audacity and it didn't look as if he'd been out for such a long time," Butragueno told reporters.

"The 30 minutes he was on the pitch were very encouraging and Carlo [Ancelotti] has sent out a very positive message to the youngsters that the door is open."

Jese made the breakthrough at the Bernabeu last season.
