Lee Wallace vows that Rangers will 'come back stronger' following maiden defeat

Lee Wallace expects Rangers to get back to winning ways when they return to Scottish Championship action next weekend, having fallen to their first defeat of the season.

Rangers captain Lee Wallace has predicted a quick response from his side following their first league defeat of the Scottish Championship season.

The Gers, who had not dropped a single point prior to today's meeting with Hibernian, fell to a 2-1 reverse at Easter Road.

Wallace is confident that Rangers can quickly return to winning ways when they face Alloa Athletic in six days' time, but admits that the defending needs to improve if that is to be the case.

Speaking to the club's official website, the full-back said: "Obviously the details of the game, like not defending the throw-in and ultimately the set piece, needs to be better. But for large parts of the second half we were fairly dominant.

"It is a dressing room that now needs to take this new experience on, learn from it and come back better and stronger. I think there will be no problems in that dressing room about getting back to work tomorrow, preparing for the next game and just reacting to it.

"Using the only other loss, which was in the cup, as an example we reacted great and it was 4-0 at Morton the next week."

Rangers' lead at the top of the table has now been cut to just five points following their maiden defeat.
