Harry Redknapp: 'We have to play better to win promotion'

Harry Redknapp says that his players need to perform better or risk falling behind at the top of the Championship.

Queens Park Rangers manager Harry Redknapp has insisted that his players must do better if they are to challenge for promotion to the Premier League.

Redknapp's side fell to a 2-0 defeat against Nottingham Forest on Boxing Day after goals from Greg Halford and Andy Reid.

That result followed a 1-0 home loss
against Leicester City, and Redknapp feels that his side are going through a "blip" in form.

"We started the game okay - I didn't think [Forest] offered an awful lot. But then I thought they were busier than us and we offered no end product," he told the club's official website.

"We had a great start to the season. We've had a little bit of a blip now but hopefully that's taught us a lesson.

"We've got to up our game a bit if we want to challenge [for promotion]."

QPR are third in the Championship, three points behind leaders Leicester.
