Botafogo return to action in the Copa Sudamericana when they visit the Estadio Presbitero Bartolome Grella to take on Patronato in the first leg of their round-of-32 clash on Wednesday.

The Argentine outfit, who suffered a group-stage exit from the Copa Libertadores, will be looking to pick up a third consecutive home win and begin their Sudamericana campaign on a high.

We say: Patronato 0-2 Botafogo

Botafogo have enjoyed a sensational campaign so far and are currently firing on all cylinders. While we expect the hosts to put up a fight, the Serie A side boasts the firepower needed to get the job done and we are backing them to come away victorious.

Cristal vs. Emelec (Thursday, 1.00am)

The knockout stages of the Copa Sudamericana are underway and will see Sporting Cristal and Emelec lock horns at the Estadio Nacional de Lima in the first leg of their last-32 clash on Thursday morning.

The Peruvian outfit were sent packing from the Copa Libertadores after a gruesome end to the group stages and will be looking to quickly clean the dust off their feet.

We say: Sporting Cristal 2-1 Emelec

Still licking their wounds from their Copa Libertadores exit, Sporting Cristal will look to kick off their Sudamericana campaign on the front foot. Emelec have struggled to grind out results on the road and we see them falling short at the Estadio Nacional de Lima on Wednesday.

Medellin vs. San Lorenzo (Thursday, 1.00am)

Independiente Medellin take on San Lorenzo in the first leg of the Copa Sudamericana playoff round at Atanasio Girardot Stadium on Wednesday evening.

The hosts have entered the Copa Sudamericana at this stage after finishing third in their Copa Libertadores group, while the visitors just about managed to scrape second in their Copa Sudamericana group.

We say: Independiente Medellin 0-0 San Lorenzo

Arias will be eager to kick off with a win in his first match in charge of Independiente Medellin, but coming up against one of the best sides in Argentina will not be easy by any means.

Four of San Lorenzo's last eight games have finished as goalless draws, including the last one, and so it would not be a surprise to see a repeat of that result on Wednesday.
