Neil Adams: 'Norwich City not good enough'

Norwich boss Neil Adams admits that his team performed badly during Tuesday's shock 1-0 defeat to Shrewsbury Town in the League Cup.

Norwich City manager Neil Adams has admitted that his team were 'not good enough' during Tuesday's surprise defeat to Shrewsbury Town in the League Cup.

The Canaries were beaten 1-0 at the New Meadow last night as James Collins's second-half header earned the home side a narrow victory.

"We should have been capable of winning the game and that's not being disrespectful to Shrewsbury because they've got the goal," he is quoted as saying by BBC Sport.

"We just needed to do better. We started okay, we controlled the game and we controlled the possession, missed a couple of chances that could have changed the game, but generally speaking looking at 90 minutes, we've lost 1-0, we've not scored a goal and that isn't good enough."

Norwich can get back to winning ways on Saturday when they travel to Blackpool in the Championship.
